Great Sports Stories of Jersey City
Legends like Jackie Robinson, Babe Didrikson, and Jack Dempsey made sports history in Jersey City. The city also produced some of America’s greatest athletes and coaches, many of whom are now forgotten. On Saturday June 28, Peter Begans, curator of the exhibit Legendary Arenas… and the Legends Who Performed There, will tell their dramatic stories. So come to hear about the famous like Babe Ruth, Jim Thorpe and James J. Braddock but also the forgotten like Huddie Oliver, Martha Norelius, Al Blozis, and Andy Stanfield. Free admission
